KINGS GALETTE
A French tradition dating back to the 12th Century, The “Galette des Rois” , or King’s Cake, is enjoyed to celebrate Epiphany on January 6.
The cake is decorated with crown which is to be worn by the person who finds the ceramic trinket placed inside the cake. Finding the fève in your cake symbolizes luck and prosperity, and the finder becomes the ‘king’ or ‘queen’ of the evening.
It is made on puff pastry , with a small ceramic bean hidden inside and filled with frangipane.
